Question: A person stitches 10 shirt in a day. In how many days he can stitch 100 shirts?

Answer: Total Number of Days =  ( Total Number of Shirts / Number of shirts in a day )

                                     = ( 100 / 10 )

= 10 days.

Question: Similarly if we say, Person stitches 100 shirts in 10 days, how many shirts he can stitch in 1 day?

Answer : Number of Shirts in a day   =  (Total number of Shirts / Total number of days )

Number of Shirts in a day =  ( 100 / 10 )

Number of Shirts in a day = 10 shirts in a day

Question: Now if some one asks if a person  stitches 60 shirts in 5 days, in how many days he can stitch 108 shirts?

What will you do?

Answer :

Steps 1: Find number of shirts in a day as explained above.

Number of Shirts in a day = Total number of Shirts / Total number of days

Number of Shirts in a day = 60 / 5

Number of Shirts in a day =  12 shirts in a day

Step 2: Now total days to stitch 108 shirts are = Total number of shirts / Number of shirts in a day

                                                                          = 108 / 12

                                                                         = 9 days

Another Question:  A person can repair 5 mobiles  in a day.  On a particular day he got 18 mobiles for repair. How many days he'll take to repair them.

Answer : Total Number of Days =  Total Number of Mobiles / Number of mobiles in a day

            = 18 / 5

            = 3.6 days.

What is 0.6 days in this ?

Lets assume, person works for 8 hrs in a day, so 0.6 days will be some number of hours in a day.

0.6 means 60% of 8 hrs.

60/100*8 = 4.8 hrs

So our answer is he'll take 3 days and 4.8 hours to repair all mobiles.
